We are proud to offer you a concourse restored 1956 Isetta 250cc European spec Coupe with the RARE "Z" mold two tone color option.According to the BMW AG Germany this Isetta was manufactured in June of 1956 and was delivered to the Auto Haus Gloeckler in Frankfurt the same dealer who delivered Elvis his BMW 507 and Isetta. By the way the BMW 507 has been found and will be restored by the BMW Classic team.
The Color on this RARE Isetta is Hell Blau for the top and Kornblumen Blau at the bottom divided by the factory installed aluminum "Z" mold.
ONLY the two tone Isetta bubble window coupes received this trim package. Never the convertible and never the single color models.
Interesting is that this early Isetta came with solid rims painted in the darker color versus the two piece rims normally seen on early Isettas. The date code on the rims are May 1956 and all the rims show the same codes!
The original seat was restored by using the proper correct materials created by a firm who developed the pattern from the original samples. The Gray sunroof material we had reproduced providing the same needle point pattern with the Gray backing.
This European model came with the factory installed rear and side Plexiglas windows which we reproduced and are perfect without ANY scratches. The 5" Inch Euro headlights/side turn signals/tail lights and unique Speedometer showing the original Kilometers are restored to perfection. Turning back the Kilometers/Miles was not an option on this built.
The engine is a MATCHING number unit with the 250cc displacement therefore the Kilometers are true before we started restoring this car.
On this early model there was not a 250 number badge on the door because only 250 cc cars were manufactured.
Stripping the paint off the door down to bare metal reveals NO holes for a inside mirror therefore we did not wanted to drill holes for the mirror.
Only the Best original parts were installed for this restoration like original vintage B.F Goodrich Black wall tires/ N.o.S Bosch voltage regulator/rebuilt Everbest fuel valve because anything else does not belong on any concourse Isetta. Keep in mind a well educated Isetta enthusiast is our Best customer making the best decisions selecting the proper parts for their restoration and goals.
We displayed this wonderful restored bubble window coupe at the High Art museum in downtown Atlanta next to multi million dollars Prototype cars and this Isetta was a great crowd pleaser. Our Best drives we had by filming some tours for the American Picker show having our BMW 600 pulling a Westfalia open trailer next to some restored Isettas.
Not many restored early European two tone "Z" molded Isettas are on the market today therefore don't miss out on a great chance owning one of the finest restored Isetta in the USA. We are currently restoring 8 Isettas few Bubble windows and Slider coupe/convertibles as well few BMW 600. Some cars we will offer for sale down the road and some restored cars we received from our valued customers in order to peel away layers of issues other restorers left behind.
